I switched from using a second stream PC to streaming directly off my main machine. It's working great. The only problem I ran into was that I didn't have a wire to connect my camera. I figured I'd make a little ASCII avatar while I waited for the cable to ship in.
It turned into more of a thing than I originally planned.
So far, the features are:
Take input from the microphone and move the mouth accordingly
Watch for key presses on and type in sync with me while looking down at the keyboard
Move the mouse when I do in roughly the same direction
Blink from time to time
Accept commands from chat to change the character and background colors
It certainly wasn't the plan, but I'm having so much fun with it that I'm gonna stick with it for a bit
