Shell Formatting

(originally posted on: http://alancode.blogspot.com/)

I like a custom shell prompt when I'm working on a linux box. The one I use is:

PS1='[\e[0;32m\]\u@\h\[\e[m\]:\e[0;32m\]\w\[\e[m\]]\n$ '

(added to the local .bash_profile file.)

The "32m" string can be updated to change the color (assuming the terminal can handle color).
