You can create a sha256 hash of file in the terminal on a mac by running this command:
shasum -a 256 FILE_NAME.EXTIt'll return something like:
e9223ac5dd5515662ce57bc4e8d590cf0dd5298ca63d8b0d64dd8fe663997b0 FILE_NAME.EXT-- end of line --
