RSS Needs Timelines

One At A Time

I just realized something. One thing that prevents me from using RSS more is that posts aren't displayed on a continuous timeline. They show up one by one1.

A screenshot of the Net News Wire RSS Reader. It has three columns. The left shows all the feeds I'm following and some 'smart feeds' that include 'today' which is what's selected. The center shows the list of posts from the 'today' smart feed. The right shows a post from Adactio. The post itself simply says 'Trans women are women.' Beneith the words is a bunch of empty space that's about four times as tall as the area that displays the text.

I have to click or press the down arrow to see the next one.

And, again to see the one after that.

etc..., etc...

Not a huge deal, but it sure would be nice if I could use the scroll wheel instead of seeing all that empty space...

Footnotes

I've been using NetNewsWire as my RSS Reader for years. I expect other readers offer a timeline. If I wasn't working on my own thing, I'd start looking for one.
