Weeknotes for the Week Ending Jan. 9, 2026
Wednesday - Jan. 7
- Got a new UPS so I can spin my NAS back up. I know at least a few of the hard drives have problems. I got one to replace. Hopefully, the entire thing hasn't given up the ghost.

Moved files around in Lightroom. I should write something up about that. I used to keep everything in a single year/month/day structure. That makes it difficult to work with.
This week I started making other folders and just thrown stuff around. It's weird that it took me so long to get my head around that. Things are so much easier to deal with that way.
- I did a little looking at camper vans for a likely future purchase.
- I posted a few photos from the past few months on the site. I think it was last week that I got styles set up to show them off nicely.
- I added a feature to my site that adds a background "DRAFTS" watermark when pages are in that state. It'll help prevent me from deploying the site without switching posts to "done" when they're ready.

I'm about to get back into Neopolitan to set up the parser as its own thing. I realized while thinking about it that I can keep the default sections very limited and then allow folks to do things like
-- reading-list checklistto configure sections to be checklists or whatever directly in the docs.Way better than having to setup the config at the parser level.
I'm really looking forward to getting that done and making the next version of Neopoligen so I can pull some of the better templating approaches I'm using in my simple site builder back into my main site.

Watched Everything Everywhere All At Once. Loved it. 4/4 Stars. Decided to jot down thoughts about it.
Wrap Up
- I hung out in voice chat Fresh Water Fern's https://www.twitch.tv/freshwaterfern discord server a lot. Folks gather there most nights. It's a game dev discord so they're all working on game. I dig watching them work even though I don't do it myself. It's also just nice to hang out in general.
- I haven't hooked my NAS back up yet. I've got to shuffle my network gear and set up my recent cable modem to use the external router. Probably I'll do that this weekend.
